CALIFORNIA LUXURY VEHICLE OWNERS

California Lemon Law Attorney for Luxury Vehicles

Your Luxury Vehicle Was Supposed to Be Exceptional. If It Keeps Going Back to the Dealer, California Law May Give You a Way Out.

Repeated warning lights. The same defect returning after repairs. Software resets that never solve the underlying problem. Weeks spent waiting for parts or driving a loaner.

If your vehicle has undergone repeated warranty repairs, you may have legal options—including a potential manufacturer repurchase, replacement or other relief—depending on the specific facts.

Free case evaluation • No obligation

Submitting an inquiry does not create an attorney-client relationship. Every matter requires an individual legal evaluation.

You paid for engineering, safety, comfort and prestige—not an endless cycle of repair appointments.

When you purchase or lease a luxury vehicle, you expect it to perform. But when a defect occurs, the response from the dealership often falls short of the brand’s promise.

Consider the reality of your ownership experience. You may have faced:

  • The same defect returning after the dealer says it was finally repaired.
  • "Could not duplicate" appearing repeatedly on your repair orders when the symptom clearly exists.
  • Warning lights being cleared without the underlying mechanical or electrical problem being corrected.
  • Vehicle software being repeatedly reset or updated as a temporary patch.
  • Long waits for specialized parts that leave your vehicle sitting in a service bay.
  • Extended days out of service that deprive you of the vehicle you are paying for.
  • Intermittent safety problems that make you question whether the vehicle is reliable.
  • Being told a serious or annoying condition is "normal" or "operating as designed."
  • Paying a premium for a luxury vehicle while driving an inferior loaner for weeks on end.
  • Deep concern about long-term reliability and a diminished confidence in the vehicle.

*Frustration alone does not establish a legal claim, but the documented history of these events may provide the basis for a California lemon-law case evaluation.

The Evidence

The Most Important Evidence May Already Be in Your Repair Orders.

A California lemon-law claim is not built on guesswork. The actual, truthful mechanism for pursuing relief is the vehicle’s documented warranty-repair history.

There is no universal automatic repair-count rule that guarantees an outcome. The entire record must be evaluated.

An evaluation may consider:

  • What defect or nonconformity was reported
  • How the dealership documented the complaint
  • What repair work was attempted
  • Whether the condition returned
  • The number and timing of repair opportunities
  • Total days out of service
  • Warranty status and expiration
  • The seriousness and effect of the condition
  • Communications with the dealer and manufacturer
  • The vehicle’s acquisition and use
  • The complete factual timeline

What Could a Successful Lemon-Law Claim Mean for You?

1. Manufacturer Repurchase

A qualifying claim may result in the manufacturer repurchasing the vehicle, subject to the law and case-specific calculations including a statutory mileage offset.

2. Replacement Vehicle

Replacement may be an available remedy in some qualifying circumstances, potentially exchanging the vehicle for a comparable new one subject to terms of the law.

3. Monetary Resolution

Some matters may resolve through a monetary settlement or other relief while the consumer keeps the vehicle, depending on the facts and the client’s informed decisions.

Potential outcomes depend heavily on specific facts, and we do not guarantee a particular result. Every matter requires individual evaluation. The initial case review is offered at no charge. The firm’s fee arrangement and any costs should be discussed directly with the firm before representation begins.

Identify the Problem

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

  • My vehicle has returned to an authorized dealership more than once.
  • The same problem has returned after a repair attempt.
  • My vehicle has spent substantial time at the dealership.
  • The dealer says it cannot duplicate the condition.
  • My vehicle has recurring warning lights or electrical problems.
  • A software update or reset did not permanently solve the issue.
  • The condition affects safety, use or value.
  • I am still making payments on a vehicle I do not trust.
  • My warranty recently expired, but the repair history began earlier.
  • I am unsure whether I have enough repair attempts.

You do not need to diagnose your own legal claim.

Luxury Vehicles Create Expensive, Complicated Problems.

When you invest in a luxury or exotic vehicle, you are purchasing advanced engineering. But when that engineering fails, the problems are rarely simple.

Modern premium vehicles rely on intricate networks of interconnected systems. A single defect can manifest across multiple components, confusing service technicians and resulting in repetitive repair attempts.

Evaluating complex repair histories involving software, EV drivetrains, and interconnected vehicle modules requires careful attention to the engineering described in the repair orders.

Complexities We Can Review

  • Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS)
  • High-voltage EV systems and charging
  • Adaptive air suspension failures
  • Complex electronics and module replacement
  • Software-dependent vehicle functions
  • Specialized parts and repair delays
  • Intermittent conditions
  • High acquisition and lease costs

Common Questions

How many repair attempts do I need?
California law does not set a single mandatory number. It requires the manufacturer to be given a 'reasonable' number of attempts. This depends on the severity of the defect, safety implications, and the individual repair history. A case evaluation looks at the entire record, not just a count.
What if the dealer says it cannot duplicate the problem?
This is a common issue, especially with intermittent electrical or software problems. A "cannot duplicate" (CND) repair order is still evidence that you presented the vehicle for repair.
What if the warranty has expired?
If the first repair attempt for the defect occurred while the warranty was in effect, you may still have a valid claim even if the warranty subsequently expired. An evaluation of your repair dates is essential.
Does lemon law apply to leased vehicles?
Leased vehicles can raise the same warranty concerns as purchased vehicles. Keep your lease agreement, payment records, and every repair order so counsel can evaluate the full picture.
What if I used more than one dealership?
Taking your vehicle to different authorized dealerships for the same manufacturer does not generally invalidate a claim.
What if the problem is intermittent?
Intermittent problems are common in luxury and EV systems. Proper documentation on repair orders remains critical.
What if the manufacturer already offered me money?
Manufacturers sometimes offer "cash and keep" settlements. It is prudent to have the warranty history reviewed to determine if the offer aligns with the law's remedies before signing a release.
Do I need all my repair orders before contacting the firm?
While having your repair orders is helpful, you can request an evaluation even if you are missing some.
How are attorney’s fees and costs handled?
The initial case review is offered at no charge. The firm’s fee arrangement and any costs should be discussed directly with the firm before representation begins.
Does submitting the form mean the firm represents me?
No. Submitting an inquiry does not create an attorney-client relationship. Representation only begins after a mutual decision to proceed and a signed fee agreement.
Can the firm evaluate EV charging, battery or software problems?
The firm can review claims involving high-voltage battery errors, reduced range, charging failures, and infotainment software defects.

You Do Not Have to Keep Guessing Whether Another Repair Appointment Will Finally Fix It.

Your vehicle’s history already exists. The repair orders, dealership visits and days out of service tell the story. The next step is simply having that story reviewed.

Preserve your records. Timely evaluation is important to understanding applicable deadlines.
